In order for us as students to see through the myth and uncover the true value of our textbooks we must explore other options. JFK put it best when he said, “In short, at a time when we could be exploring how more efficiency and better prices could be obtained….a few gigantic corporations have decided to increase prices in ruthless disregard of their public responsibilities…." We as students play a very influential role as the public and the only method we can use to modify the market that systematically establishes the value of our textbooks is to create our own market in which students supply other students with textbooks… Ask not what you can do to better your textbook, but ask what you can do to better the market your textbook is in… This is what is up. |
